How long does window tinting take?
The duration of a window tint installation depends on several factors, including the type of vehicle, the number of windows being tinted, and whether existing film needs to be removed. A full vehicle typically requires between 1.5 to 3 hours, while tinting just the front two doors usually takes around 30 minutes to 1 hour.
How much does window tinting cost?
Window tinting costs typically range from $100 to $600, depending on several key factors. Pricing varies based on the type of film—dyed being the most affordable, while ceramic and carbon films offer superior heat rejection and durability at higher costs. Vehicle size plays a major role, with larger vehicles like SUVs and trucks requiring more material and labor. Additional prep work, such as removing old tint, can add $50 to $150 per window, and specialty services like windshield or sunroof tinting may tack on another $50 to $300.
Why is old film removal charged by the window?
Old window film removal is often charged per window because the time, difficulty, and risk vary dramatically depending on the film’s age, adhesive type, and the condition of the glass. Each window presents a unique challenge—some may peel cleanly, while others require meticulous razor work, steam, and chemical adhesive breakdown. Rear windows with defroster lines are especially risky; damaging those lines can lead to costly replacements. Skilled removal demands patience, precision, and experience to avoid scratching glass, tearing seals, or leaving residue that compromises the new install. Charging per window allows for the time required to achieve a clean and safe removal without damage.
How long will your window tint last?
The longevity of window tint is influenced by both the quality of the film and the level of sun exposure it receives. At Divine Detail, we exclusively carry premium carbon and ceramic tint options, each backed by a lifetime warranty that protects against bubbling, peeling, and fading. While lower-grade films may bubble, fade, or deteriorate more quickly and typically come with shorter warranties, our high-performance tints are designed to deliver lasting clarity, durability, and peace of mind.
